In between check-ups, Dr. Brawner are available for pediatric sick visits. Children are prone to many different illnesses. If your child is experiencing symptoms of illness, we offer diagnosis and treatment, if needed to lessen the severity of their condition.

While extra fluids and rest may be the answer for a mild cold, if there are more serious symptoms, you should call for a sick visit appointment. The following are symptoms that should be checked out by a doctor:

  • High fever or persistent fever for more than three days

  • High fever in a child less than one year old

  • Rash (widespread or looks like chickenpox or accompanied by heavy breathing)

  • Vomiting

  • Diarrhea

  • Persistent pain (stomachache, sore throat, headache, or earache)

  • Any unusual symptoms that last for more than three days

A pediatric sick visit may not be urgent, but unusual symptoms could be caused by a serious condition and need to be checked out.

If a sick visit is needed, please supply the following information when you call for an appointment:

  • The child’s name and age

  • Symptoms (cough, vomiting, diarrhea, etc.) and how long they have persisted

  • Recent temperature

  • Any changes that may have occurred in the child’s condition

  • Treatments already tried
